You Gotta Love the Sun's "LAWYER TO RUN AGAINST RAMOS " piece-Chapter II

If you ever had a doubt about the symbiotic relationship between the Sun and Ramos, it should be resolved with the Sun's front pager "Lawyer to run against Ramos". Joe Nelson called me the evening before to pick a fight--when I did not grab the bait, he runs a piece that focuses on offices I ran for--like that means anything in this County. Postmus never lost an election.

  1. Friday (March 18, 2010) at 4:40 pm I get sent an email from the Sun asking me if I want to put in a 400 word candidate statement; its Monday before I see it (late in the afternoon) -- I ask the Sun for another day to get it in, instead I get lectured by the editorial page editor saying I should have read about it sooner in their editorial section (kinda begs the question of why would I read the Sun after getting manhandled by Joe Nelson and Ramos' campaign consultant in what was supposed to be an article announcing my candidacy). I probably should make an FPPC complaint for the Sun running what was little more than a hit-piece (on me) for the Ramos machine. When you see a blank in the paper, you will know why. Bob

  2. Yikes--the Sun emails me an offer to submit the statement with photo after they told me I am SOL (Short On Luck); I did send it (the 400 page statement and photo) within the new time line given--let's see if it comes in and how chopped up it is or isn't. Stay tuned. Bob

  3. As a person who has known Bob personally for 20 years both as a client and friend ( the man saved my life), I am amazed at the lack respect the Sun, much less the FOS political croanies in the political machine show him. Conservative he is. He speaks the truth to you even if it has a bit of a sting to it. He's always willing to listen to another's point of view and respects anyone's right to think different.. Pollitically what I love most about him is he is ethically set in his mind. He knows where the line is or is willing to draw the line that no one can make him cross. Lacking in a lot of people these days. Just read the SBC newspapers. He' not just a good challenger to his oppositon. He poses a real threat to the coruption and the way the "Good Ol' Boys" govern this county. Keep on keepin' on Bob because a lot of us love you because of who are and because we know you are working hard for what we need and not just what we want.

  4. Ok--thank you (Sun) for running the 400 word piece as is in the 31st. Seems like a step was taken in the right direction. Feedback to the article so far was interesting. A source related to me yesterday that law enforcement in the high desert is about 75% contra to Ramos--it would be interesting to see how many other rank and file officers in the county are disgusted with their union's endorsement of Ramos. Question for anyone in the know (and I am asking for some confirmation of a rumor I heard yesterday).....did Colonies money get laundered through any public employee unions to Republican candidates?? I would appreciate some confirmation of that (as would a few law enforcement agencies that might be looking at this County from a RICO vantage). Again, I am not saying its true, just looking for some verification info. Bob
