POLITICALLY MOTIVATED PROSECUTION(S)?

At a recent meeting in Apple Valley, a well-heeled investor stated (after a few too many drinks) that Joe Gomez got what he deserved for not backing the maglift train program (like former Mayor Lawrence Dale did) and now that Joe was being pushed out, the money should be coming in on the train project (in fact a meeting was supposed to take place on Thursday??)--whether true or not, the very fact Barstow Mayor Gomez (who is the first democrat to win that seat in some time)was the subject of a conversation in an Apple Valley meeting tells us the slippery slope the media and political figures involved have put us on; because of the danger of charges involving public officials or public figures being potentially politically motivated (and the taint that places on the hopefully still non-partisan prosecutor's office), an extra effort needs to be made to scrutinize the filings by the DA's office, to make sure we are accusing and trying public figures on verifiable facts (vs staged events and or witnesses).
